Home-made Montessori Moveable Alphabet

I have finally come up with an idea for a box to make the moveable alphabet into, Montessori-style.
I have found this plastic ice-cubes box at the Dollar store, and decided it would be perfect for this purpose. And it's cheap as well, only about 2 dollars!
I have printed this free moveable alphabet, but I am not sure why it is not available right now.
For a very good free Romanian alphabet, please see Camelia's blog.

Vom reveni cu poze in actiune!

  4. My niece (21 months also a brillkids Little Reader) has started to take magnet letters from the refrigerator to spell 3 letter words like PIG

I made and sent her a full alphabet (made from magnetic sheets). (2 full sets plus many spares of the commonly used letters)
Hopefully my magnets will help her find all the letters she needs to make the words she wants to as she develops her skills.

Instead of storing them in alphabetical order as you have above, I made a magnetic version of a computer keyboard for her to take them from (and put them back).

My reasoning is that my parents and I all live in different places and we communicate with her daily via skype and facebook. She sees her mother type her responses. Becoming familiar with the layout of the keyboard will help her to be able to type to us herself (maybe not this week but i'm sure it wont be long...)
